What is life coaching?

Life coaching is defined as “a dynamic interaction that facilitates the learning, development, and performance of the person being coached.”

It is a way to promote balance and harmony by supporting you in living to your fullest potential. While there is enormous variability in terms of counselling approaches, one crucial distinction between coaches and counsellors is that the former is not focused on a problem or diagnosis.

How does it work?

Instead, coaching is aimed at enhancing existing capabilities. It is a solution-focused approach in which you are guided toward achieving outcomes. The focus in coaching tends to be more future based, exploring areas in life that are important to you and setting goals to help you achieve what you want.

What does this look like?

Even though I am a qualified therapist I can integrate life coaching skills into my counselling practice. The integrative model that includes coaching with counselling/psychotherapy brings together different elements. This can help you explore and resolve conflicts from the past and then look forward towards setting goals and outcomes to improve your life in the future.
